American Sign Language (ASL) is a robust language complete with its own unique vocabulary, syntax, and grammar. Signed English, however, is a series of signs used by some schools to mimic the English language in visual form. Signed English (SEE or PSE) is not considered a language, and the signs are not the same as ASL. Please make sure you are viewing videos that demonstrate authentic ASL.
